Eli has worked primarily with Central American countries; however, this picture was part of the series called Lost Boys of Sudan. This poignant picture represents the more than 20,000 boys that were displaced and orphanized in the Sudanese Civil War. Despite hardship, the children seem cheerful and hopeful. I really liked the focus and lines of the boy nearest the camera, which was the result of a wide lens. Because of the wide lens, I felt as though I was part of the picture.
