This photograph was taken by Nicolas Maillot, a french photographer. In this shot he did not only make use of excellent light and contrast, he also created a very humouristic scene with the shaving cream all over his face, trying to mimic a person of old age. The strength of this photograph is first of all all the striking expression on the model's face (I believe it is a self-portrait, though I'm not quite sure), secondly playing with foam and shaving cream is a very childlike activity, and thus clashes with the old persona the photograph feigns to represent. In conclusion, I chose this photograph for its unique qualities and the capacity to bring a smile to my face.
