The two artists met during the development of their careers. Both artist"s were grasped by the sense of simplicity in the arts. Especially Alexander Calder, was very impressed by the abstract minimalistic art of Piet Mondriaan, who"s influence can be felt throughout the bold shapes and especially colours of his work. He mainly worked in architecture and three-dimensional (street) art. One can say that both were products and creators of their own period and time in the Arts.
